If you are interested in becoming a pollworker for Jackson Parish and are not currently certified, there will be a general commissioner certification class held on Tuesday, August 22, 2017, at 5:30 p.m. in the McBride Room of the Jackson Parish Library. Your attendance at the class, along with the successful completion of the test, will allow you to be eligible to serve as a commissioner in our elections if chosen to work. In an effort to remain current and up-to-date in this rapidly changing world of technology, Jackson Parish Clerk of Court has decided to become a member of the Louisiana Clerks’ Remote Access Authority (LCRAA). LCRAA was created and authorized by La. R.S. 13:754 in 2014.It is a state entity authorized to design, construct, administer, and maintain a statewide portal of records that are maintained by parish Clerks of Court. As of January 1, 2016 our office will have the ability to issue certified copies of Louisiana death records for deaths that occurred from January 2013 to present. For deaths occurring prior to this, you will need to contact Louisiana Vital Records. Effective August 1, 2016, the cost will be $26.00 cash per copy.
